Strasbourg to Munich transfer by van with a driver

Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is about 360 km from Strasbourg, around 3 hours 50 minutes by road via Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Ulm. People go there for the Oktoberfest, a trade fair at Messe München, a match, a business meeting or a flight from Franz Josef Strauss airport. Our van takes you there in one go, door to door, with your luggage, up to 8 passengers.

The price is confirmed before departure and covers the whole vehicle, not each passenger.

Distance and journey time

From Place Kléber to Munich main station (München Hbf, the arrival point we used): about 359 km, around 3 hours 50 minutes by car on the A5 then the A8, depending on traffic (OSRM road calculation, excluding breaks). The A8 between Stuttgart and Munich is often busy, and roadworks or winter snow can lengthen the trip. Munich airport, north of the city, the exhibition centre or an address on the outskirts are other possible drop-off points: tell us when booking.

Why a van rather than the train?

  • There are several of you: a group for the Oktoberfest, a team for a trade fair, a family. Up to 8 passengers in one vehicle, at the same price.
  • You have bulky luggage: suitcases, exhibition material, skis in winter to carry on into the Bavarian Alps.
  • The timetable does not suit: an early-morning flight from Munich, a return after an evening event, a strike. We run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • You need a one-way trip: a repatriation, a journey with no driver available, an elderly relative to accompany. The trip can also be booked from Munich to Strasbourg.
  • You prefer to arrive rested at the exact address, with no connection and no taxi to find on arrival.

What about the train?

There is a direct TGV between Strasbourg and Munich, taking about 3 hours 50 minutes, plus connections with one change (at Stuttgart or Karlsruhe, for example) from about 3 hours 30 minutes, according to the Deutsche Bahn website. Direct trains are few, often one or two a day: check your date on bahn.de or SNCF Connect. If you travel light and the times suit you, the train is fast and comfortable.

The van remains simpler for several people, with luggage, or when the direct train does not leave at a time that works for you.

ID: the German border

Munich is in Germany, within the European Union and the Schengen area, but you are changing country: bring a valid ID card or passport for every passenger, children included. Checks may take place at the border. The currency is the euro. Travellers from outside the European Union should bring their passport and, if needed, a Schengen visa.
