Strasbourg to Paris transfer by van with a driver

Paris is about 490 km from Strasbourg by motorway, roughly 5 hours on the road. The TGV is faster, and we say so plainly below. But for a family with suitcases, a group of 6 to 8, a departure in the middle of the night or a strike day, a van with a driver makes real sense: it collects you at your door and drops you at the exact address, whether a station, an airport or a hotel.

The price is confirmed before departure and covers the whole vehicle, not each passenger.

Distance and journey time

From Place Kléber to Gare de l’Est (the arrival point we used): about 490 km on the A4, around 5 hours 10 minutes depending on traffic (OSRM road calculation, excluding breaks). Allow longer on arrival in Paris at rush hour, and plan one or two stops on a trip this long. Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Disneyland Paris or the suburbs are other possible addresses: enter them in the simulator or tell us by phone.

Why a van rather than the train?

  • There are several of you: up to 8 passengers and their luggage in one vehicle, at the same price however many seats are taken.
  • Your luggage is bulky: large suitcases, a pushchair, sports or music equipment, boxes from a small move. Nothing to carry along platforms.
  • The timetable does not fit: a very early flight at Roissy, a night-time arrival, a missed connection, a strike or a cancelled train. We run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • You need a one-way trip: a return home after a car breakdown, an elderly relative to accompany, a journey with no driver available. The trip can be booked in either direction, including from Paris to Strasbourg.
  • You prefer door to door: no metro with the bags, no taxi to find on arrival.

What about the TGV?

Let us be honest: the TGV links Strasbourg to Paris Gare de l’Est in about 1 hour 45 minutes, with many departures a day, according to SNCF Connect. OUIGO also runs low-cost trains on this line. If you travel alone or as a couple, with little luggage, and the times suit you, the train remains the right choice. To reach Strasbourg station, see our Strasbourg train station transfer page.

The van becomes worthwhile from 4 or 5 people, with luggage, or when the train cannot take you: impossible times, strikes, a destination outside central Paris.

On the day

Your driver arrives at the agreed address and time, helps load the luggage and takes the motorway. Breaks are decided with you. Child seats are provided on request, to be specified when booking. If you are going to a Paris airport, give us your flight number: we set the departure time around your check-in time. A long wait on site or a same-day return trip is quoted separately.
