Strasbourg to Luxembourg transfer by van with a driver

Luxembourg City is about 220 km from Strasbourg, around 2 hours 20 minutes by road via Metz. It is the capital of the Grand Duchy, home to European institutions, banks and many companies, and plenty of travellers make the trip for a meeting, a parliamentary session, a flight from Findel airport or a weekend away. Our van takes you there in one go, with your luggage, up to 8 passengers.

The price is confirmed before departure and covers the whole vehicle, not each passenger.

Distance and journey time

From Place Kléber to Luxembourg station (the arrival point we used): about 218 km, around 2 hours 20 minutes by car on the A4 then the A31, depending on traffic (OSRM road calculation). The approaches to Luxembourg City are busy at rush hour, especially inbound in the morning. The Kirchberg plateau, Findel airport or an address on the outskirts are other possible drop-off points: tell us when booking.

Why a van rather than the train?

  • There are several of you: a delegation, a team on the move, a family. Up to 8 passengers in one vehicle, at the same price.
  • You are going straight to an appointment: Kirchberg, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Parliament, a company head office. The driver drops you at the door.
  • You have a flight from Findel: the airport is east of the city. Give us the flight number and we set the departure time around check-in.
  • The timetable does not suit: a very early start, a late return, a strike. We run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • You have bulky luggage or a one-way return trip to arrange.

What about the train?

Trains link Strasbourg and Luxembourg, usually with a change at Metz, taking about 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the timetable; a few direct services run on some days, according to SNCF Connect. Check your exact date before travelling. If you travel light and the change does not bother you, the train is a good option. Once there, Luxembourg’s public transport (buses, trams and second-class trains) has been free since March 2020, according to the Luxembourg government.

The van remains simpler for several people, with suitcases, or when you need to be at a precise address at a precise time.

ID: the Luxembourg border

Luxembourg is in the European Union and the Schengen area, but you are changing country: bring a valid ID card or passport for every passenger, children included. Checks may take place. The currency is the euro. Travellers from outside the European Union should bring their passport and, if needed, a visa.
