Basel Carnival 2027 (Basler Fasnacht) from Strasbourg
The Basler Fasnacht is three days of cliques, lanterns, parades and music in the city centre of Basel, about 1 hr 40 from Strasbourg. In 2027 it runs from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 February, and it opens with the famous Morgestraich at 4 am.
At 4 am you need to be there already. We drive you from Strasbourg in a van with a driver, up to 8 passengers, leaving in the middle of the night: we operate 24/7.

The Morgestraich at 4 am: how to get there on time
The Morgestraich is the most awaited moment. The Comité sums it up: at exactly 4 am the lights go out in the city centre, and the cliques move forward with their lanterns as the only light.
From Strasbourg, allow about 1 hr 40 by road to Basel station (about 138 km, OSRM road calculation), plus the time to walk into the old town. To be in place before 4 am, you need to leave Strasbourg in the middle of the night.
- By train: check on SNCF Connect or the SBB (Swiss railways) website whether a connection gets you there before 4 am. If not, you will need to sleep in Basel the night before.
- By car: possible, but you have to find somewhere to park in a city in full celebration, then drive back after a sleepless night.
- By van with a driver: we pick you up at your address in Strasbourg, drop you as close to the centre as the open streets allow, and drive you back whenever you decide. Nobody has to drive.
Our Strasbourg – Basel round trip by van
- Price: Strasbourg → Basel from €335, for the whole van (up to 8 passengers with luggage), not per person. This starting price is a daytime rate. A departure between 7 pm and 7 am, as for the Morgestraich, is charged at the night rate, which is higher: the price calculator gives the exact price for your time.
- Return: book it as a second trip, or ask us for a driver at your disposal if you want the driver to wait for you: on request.
- Night departures: we work 24/7. Leaving at 2 am is no problem.
- Groups: one van takes up to 8 people; for a larger clique, club or group of friends, up to 6 vans (48 people), on request.
- Child seats on request, for the Tuesday children’s carnival.
Tickets, the Plakette and food and drinks are not included in our prices. Our drivers speak French, English and Arabic.

What about carnivals in Alsace?
Other carnivals take place in Alsace in the same season. As of 21 October 2026, we have not found their 2027 dates on the organisers’ official websites: we will add them as soon as they are published. The year’s other big events are in our Alsace events calendar.
